Grant Application Guidelines

  • Applicant organizations must be charitable, tax-exempt organizations with 501(c)(3) certifications.
  • Organizations must support charitable activities in Delaware County.  Organizations are not required to be based or work exclusively in Delaware County. However, preference will be given to Delaware County-based organizations.
  • Churches or religious organizations are not eligible to apply; however, organizations that utilize church facilities to further the mission of Project W may apply for funding, as long as they are independent 501(c)(3) organizations.
  • Each organization must submit the following:
    • Completed Grant Application
    • Financial Information
      • Organization’s most recent audited statement, if the organization’s budget is greater than $100,000
      • Form 990 if organizational budget is between $25,000 and $100,000
      • Unaudited form if neither document above is available
    • Current List of Board Members and their Affiliations
    • IRS Determination Letter indicating 501(c)(3) status
  • Project W will not fund:
    • Individuals
    • For-profit organizations
    • Religious based programs or those promoting religious education
    • Programs that attempt to influence legislation or that promote or support a political organization as defined in 26 U.S.C. 527. A 527 is a non-profit organization formed under Section 527 of the Internal Revenue Code, which grants tax-exempt status to political committees at the national, state, and local level
    • Organizations that do not provide services in Delaware County
