FAQ’s

Q.        What is Project W?

A.         Project W is a women’s Giving Circle that harnesses the power of collective giving to address the needs of women, right here in Delaware County. Project W is committed to enhancing and improving the quality of life for women in Delaware County, through collective giving, by women.   If you join, YOUR impact will be immediate!  YOU will help to award impactful grants to four local charitable organizations making a difference in our community.

Q.        What is the time commitment required for Project W members?

A.         The minimum commitment is to make a $550 donation by October 30, 2023 and to vote in person or by submitting a ballot in advance of the Annual Meeting.  If you would like to be more involved, you can join a number of committees, including one that evaluates the grant applications or spread the word about Project W to charitable organizations that may be interested in submitting a grant application. Encouraging and enlisting new members to the Fund is appreciated!  This is YOUR Fund – together, we can make a difference.

Q.        What are the benefits for joining Project W?

A.         In addition to knowing that membership fees are pooled together to make large grants to organizations helping women in Delaware County, you will connect with other community-minded women all working together to make a difference.  We work with the grant recipients to coordinate service projects with which our members can be involved.  Educational series provide members with an understanding of the needs and challenges facing women and families in Delaware County.

Q.        If I am unable to donate the full $550, can I team up with a friend to pool our donations?

A.         Yes!  However, you will get one vote and you will need to select 1 individual to serve as the official representative of your group.  We recommend a maximum of 5 women per group.

Q.        If I contribute more than $550, do I get another vote?

A.         Additional contributions are appreciated and would go toward grants awarded and any programming costs for that year.  However, you would only have one vote.

Q.        Can I gift a membership to a friend or family member?

A.         If you’d like to contribute multiple memberships, you can gift additional memberships to family or friends — then that individual would receive a vote.
