DEIA – Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Access Committee

Mission:

The mission of Project W’s DEIA – Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Access Committee is to raise awareness, through shared conversations and education, of the current and important topics of social justice and equity while supporting Project W’s mission.

Definitions:

Diversity

Diversity is achieved by welcoming all people, and embracing all the ways that they are different and the same at the individual and group level.

Equity

Equity is achieved by ensuring the fair and just treatment of all members of a community.

Inclusion

Inclusion is achieved by ensuring that all individuals feel that they are treated fairly and respectfully, have equal access to opportunities and resources, and that they are an important part of the whole.

Access

Access is achieved by eliminating barriers and thereby allowing any person or group to use resources regardless of their ability status.

DEIA Committee Shared Conversations Series

The committee will be hosting a series of conversations on various topics related to DEIA. The goal of the “Shared Conversations Series” is to create a safe and relaxed environment where friends can come together over a glass of wine to discuss the critical topics of social justice and equity. Members are asked to bring their beverage of choice and their willingness to share their thoughts and ideas and participate in collective learning.
