Project W, a women’s giving circle in Delaware County, is seeking to expand its reach across the entire county, by recruiting new members and offering a limited number of one-year scholarships. In its first year, 2019, 64 women came together to donate a total of $35,000 to three nonprofit organizations helping women and families in Delaware County. PathWays PA was awarded $21,000 to support their PathWays to Higher Education program; The Breathing Room Foundation and the Women’s Resource Center each received $7,000 for their critical work. Moving ahead in 2020, Project W is offering four fully-funded fellowships to women age 21-35 who live in Delaware County. Kim D’Ambrosio, the chair of the group explains, “We are proud of the diversity of women drawn to Project W in its first year and of the impact we had together. In 2020, we want to continue to expand our membership to reflect the voices of the County. In that spirit, some of our members have sponsored the Project W Fellowship Program, which will provide a free one-year individual membership to four (4) young women who want to make a difference in their community.” Soly McLaughlin, Project W’s vice-chair said, “We are a welcoming group and we hope women of all perspectives and backgrounds will apply. Each applicant needs to meet certain criteria but the main characteristic is the willingness to help others in need.” Deadline to apply is January 31, 2020.
Project W is also seeking new paid members for 2020. Become a member and make an immediate impact in your local community. You can join as an individual for $550, or create your own mini-giving circle with up to 5 women and join as a group at the same rate. Deadline for 2020 membership is February 28, 2020.
